Instabill’s Merchant Security Pledge

Instabill is committed to the security of its merchants – not only for e-commerce, POS and MOTO transactions, but all correspondence between the Instabill staff and its network of merchants and partners. Instabill offers a complete defense against hackers and fraudsters with the following merchant security applications:

3D Secure Processing

Instabill offers 3D Secure processing through four credit card issuers:

  • Verified by Visa
  • MasterCard SecureCode
  • American Express SafeKey
  • JCB International J/Secure

3D Secure has been labeled the best defense against card-not-present fraud and can also lower a merchant’s risk profile. View our 3D Secure page.

SSL Certificates

Among the many features Instabill offers its merchant partners is the installation of SSL certificates to secure online transactions from fraudsters and hackers. When a customer visits a merchant website, the server establishes a secure connection between the merchant website and the customer’s browser, indicated by a small padlock symbol, the name of the website in green and the ‘https’ prefix before the web address.

SSL certificates usually need to be renewed between 1-3 years – Instabill merchant account managers can take care of that for you. Check out our page on SSL certificates for more information.

PCI DSS Compliance

More than ever, merchant websites need to be secure from hackers and fraudsters. As the U.S. migrates to EMV microchip credit cards, e-commerce fraud is rising dramatically – as it did in Europe in the early days of e-commerce and in Canada when it migrated from magnetic stripe credit cards to microchip.

PCI DSS compliance – Payment Cards Industry Data Security Standards – involves a commitment and is different for each merchant, but is fairly easy. Instabill offers McAfee PCI Certification Service for $99 per year.
