Merchants who process with Instabill have an easy way to fight chargebacks. You have five days to dispute chargeback transactions once we notify you. The key to fighting chargebacks is to supply compelling information to prove the cardholder participated in the transactions, received the goods or services, and benefited from the purchase. Ways to prove this information includes supplying any documents that contain the cardholder’s authorization or signature. You can use a signed invoice, electronic signature, or signature from a shipping service.
When you dispute chargeback transactions, you will need to email all of your supporting documents to the Instabill Customer Service Department. We will forward these documents to your acquiring bank, which will forward them to your customer’s credit card issuing bank.
When gathering the documents that support your dispute, you will need to make sure they are in TIFF format—this is a requirement from both Visa and MasterCard. The page sizes must also be set to legal 8.5″ by 14″. Lastly, based on the credit card type, each document must begin with either a V for Visa or M for MasterCard as well as the pay ID number. For multiple documents, separate each file with an underscore and sequential number (e.g. V123_1, V123_2, V123_3).
