For the fourth straight year, Instabill received a grade of ‘A’ and was listed among the Best High Risk Merchant Account providers category by credit card processing industry website CardPaymentOptions.com.
Instabill received plaudits in four categories, including Sales & Marketing, Costs & Contracts and Better Business Bureau (BBB) rating, for which it received a grade of ‘A’; and Complaints & Service, for which Instabill received a ‘B.’
Instabill’s high marks come shortly after it received a glowing review by Merchant Maverick in June, followed by another on Nov. 11 in which it was listed among Best High Risk Merchant Account Providers. In June, Instabill received four out of five stars by Merchant Maverick, which cited its products and services, competitive fees and rates and customer and technical support among other categories.
CardPaymentOptions.com graded Instabill in four areas:
Instabill was lauded for its marketing practices, for which we don’t guarantee rates, but rather urge merchants to speak with one of our merchant account managers to receive a custom quote based on processing history, industry and risk factors such as chargebacks and returns.
Additionally, and perhaps more important, Instabill merchant account managers are available live via phone, chat and Skype.
As stated above, rates and fees will vary according to several factors, about which we are up front and direct with prospective merchants and partners. Additionally, Instabill is very proactive when it comes to fraud prevention: Our merchant account managers and underwriting team vet merchants thoroughly, even after we’re able to secure a solution for them.
Though we’re not affiliated with the Better Business Bureau, it doesn’t mean the BBB doesn’t keep tabs on us. For the better part of three years, Instabill has maintained a grade of A+ with the BBB. And we plan on retaining that distinction.
What’s behind the ‘B’ grade, you ask? It is difficult to be a high risk payment processor and not receive complaints.
Firstly, it is our mission and intent to do better. When a payment processor works primarily in the high risk industry space, however, we find complaints are part and parcel with the territory. We do our best to find optimal solutions for merchants and partners, and sometimes those solutions do not work out for a number of reasons.
One of the most common complaints we receive is how we hold the funds of a merchant if we suspect fraud or a breach of contract. We do not hold the funds of merchants — the acquiring banking partner does, which often goes misunderstood by the merchant.
